Weather Related Closings & Delays

When weather events cause unscheduled closings or delays, we will post current information as we receive it on our Twitter and Facebook pages.

Branch Offices: To identify whether a specific office is closed, please call our Taxpayer Service office at 1-800-MD-TAXES (1-800-638-2937) or 410-260-7980 from Central Maryland.

The State of Maryland has added Twitter to the communication process when Maryland State offices are closed or liberal leave is announced due to inclement weather.

Employees who would like to receive emergency announcements may follow on Twitter at MdStateClosing.

Employees may also get updates via SMS by texting "follow MdStateClosing" to 40404 in the United States. Standard message and data rates apply.

Scheduled Closings for Comptroller of Maryland Offices

No appointment is necessary at our branch offices, and all taxpayers are assisted on a first come, first served basis.

Service Reduction Days: The State significantly reduces routine State operations for non-24/7 employees on these specific days preceding the holiday in accordance with Executive Order 01.01.2011.08 (State Employees Recovery Plan). Service Reduction Days are indicated in the schedule below.

The Comptroller's offices will be closed on the following days in 2017:
