Contacting Taxpayer Service for Assistance During Tax Season
If you need additional assistance or have questions about your return you may contact Taxpayer Service at 410-260-7980 from Central Maryland or at 1-800-MD TAXES from elsewhere. Assistance is available Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. From February 1 - April 15 we experience extremely high call volume. As an alternative, you can send an email to taxhelp@comp.state.md.us and receive an answer in 2-3 business days.
Refund Status Inquiries
You may obtain the status of your refund either online or by phone by calling our automated Refund Request Line at 410-260-7701 or 1-800-218-8160. Refund status is updated once daily at approximately 10:30 a.m. For more information about refunds, visit our Refund Information section.
